Invented Traditions is an oak foeder–aged German-style Altbier. What the hell is that? Good question. Altbier is a beer style that resists easy categorization—it’s malty, but dry. It’s hoppy but not in the way Americans like to think of hops. It’s German but it’s an ale. It’s somewhere between amber and brown. In short, it’s a deeply idiosyncratic beverage that is really only produced in one little corner of a faraway country. So when we resurrect it here in America, why wouldn’t we invent a past where it aged in oak for an extended period? We like how it tastes, so sure, we’ll go with it. Hopefully you enjoy our Invented Tradition.

Available on tap and in crowlers.
