Draft Night: North Star Roller Derby
During this special draft night, we’re donating $1 from every pour to North Star Roller Derby, a member-run, nonprofit roller derby league based in Minneapolis. Grab a beer and hear more about their mission to build awareness and promote the sport of roller derby through training, community engagement, and competition, as well as empowering women and non-binary athletes both on and off the derby track.
About North Star Roller Derby
North Star Roller Derby is a member-run, nonprofit roller derby league based in Minneapolis. Skaters play a version of the roller derby you may have seen on TV in the 80s, but on a flat track instead of a banked track. It’s a full contact athletic competition with rules and regulations.
NSRD’s main focus is athleticism and the empowerment of members both on and off the track. As a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), NSRD advocates for the growth of roller derby in Minnesota and throughout the world. NSRD members are also proudly involved in their community and partner with local artists, musicians, businesses and charities to enrich their home.
NSRD plays often at the Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum. At the Coliseum, they’ve been able to enhance fans’ experience with videos, a beer garden, and special box seats.
