Hiring: Event Manager

Fair State Brewing Cooperative is seeking a full-time Event Manager to join our staff in Northeast
Minneapolis.

Fair State is one of a limited number of cooperatively-owned breweries in the US. We began operations at our Northeast Minneapolis brewery and taproom in August 2014, and added a production brewery in St. Paul, MN in 2017.

This position reports to the Retail Director.

Responsibilities
  • Assist to plan, coordinate, and execute all large- and small-scale events, working most closely with Retail, Marketing, and Sales Directors
  • Taproom events and programming
  • Member events and programming
  • Sales events and activations in the Minnesota market
  • Internal company events and meetings
  • Manage co-op membership program, new member engagement, and maintain social connection with Fair State Co-op members
  • Manage annual charitable giving program and volunteer events
  • Maintain event budgets, city and state event permitting, supplies, and equipment
  • Effectively communicate event plans, needs, tasks, and results to all Fair State staff
  • Gather, plan, and create event-related social media content by attending Fair State events on- and off-site
  • Attend and contribute to regular meetings with Retail Director, Marketing Director, Retail Operations team, Sales Team, and Event Committee
  • Desired Skills and Experience
  • 2+ years working in the brewing industry or an equivalent service or event industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office platforms
  • Highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented
  • Strong interest in care and connection to people and communities
  • Craft beverage knowledge and interest
  • Proficient with social media platforms
  • Requirements
  • Able to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Able to travel occasionally
  • At least 21 years of age as of time of application
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods
  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
  • Able to regularly lift/carry heavy objects (55 lbs.) repeatedly and safely above waist-level
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with high-pressure deadlines and time constraints
  • Able to safely work on ladders and elevated platforms and in confined spaces
  • Able to safely operate vehicles and material handling equipment (e.g., vans, trucks, hand trucks,
    scissor lifts, forklifts, pallet jacks)

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass insurance driving record review for operating company-owned vehicles on public roads
  • Compensation and Benefits

    This is a full-time, salaried position compensated at $45k–$50k based on experience. As a full-time employee, this role is also eligible for:

  • 8 paid holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day)
  • Paid Time Off, which can be used for any purpose and is accrued at a rate of 0.0769 hours of PTO per hour worked (4 weeks per year)
  • Paid parental leave (160 hours of paid parental leave in the 12 months following, or the 9 months prior to, the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child in your home)
