SACA Food Shelf Donation Drive
Come on in and look for the blue bin!
We’re hosting a food donation drive with items going to Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA), a local food shelf who’s also hosting Hops for Hunger later this month.
Bring in three or more items this Saturday and get half off your first beer!
About SACA
SACA’s mission is to provide food and resources to those in need while empowering dignity and independence to those they serve in our community. SACA has served Columbia Heights, Hilltop, Fridley, Spring Lake Park, and NE Minneapolis for 45 years. They serve an average of 1,400 in-crisis families (an average of 3,400 people), giving out almost 58,000 pounds of food monthly.
What do they need?
The top needed items are tomato or pasta sauce, soups (chicken noodle, cream soups, ramen), condiments (salad dressings, mayo, bbq, ketchup, mustard), crackers, and canned meals (ravioli, stew, chili, etc.).
Nonperishable dry goods: white or brown rice, pasta and spaghetti, peanut butter, baking mixes (brownies or cakes), coffee (ground or k-cups), canned fruit, tea, flour, sugar, canned vegetables (low sodium), and large juice (shelf stable).
Hops for Hunger | March 22
Hops for Hunger is SACA’s annual craft beer fundraiser featuring 40 local breweries (including Fair State!), a silent auction, and lots of fun! Get tickets for the 12th annual event and help fight hunger with every taste. Your ticket sales go directly toward feeding your neighbors. It’s a great time for a great cause.
