Barrel-aged stout
Call us crazy, but every once in a while we think it’s fun to make a barrel-aged stout and not put anything insane in it. We enjoy the interplay of malt and spirit and oak, but it’s kinda tough to find sometimes these days. Going out on a limb like this requires help, and so we recruited some friends from Pulpit Rock (IA) to pick the best barrel candidates. We just told them they had to leave the candy canes at home.
